Capacity Building Workshop on Effective Project Management and Community Implementation Scope

On May 16th and 17th, 2025, the Optimal Greening Team successfully conducted a capacity building workshop in the Eginrin-Ekun and Isiwu communities. The training focused on Effective Project Management and Community Implementation Scope, a crucial step for the ongoing success of Project Sustainable Water Initiative for Future Transformation (SWIFT).

The workshop’s primary objectives were clear: to empower community representatives with skills for post-execution project management, enhance the planning and monitoring capabilities of Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Committee (WASHCOM) and Facility Management Team (FMT) members, and improve understanding of financial management within WASH operations.

Attendees included members from WASHCOMs, prospective Facility Management Teams, (Community Development Council) CDC executives, and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) representatives. Both sessions saw high levels of participant engagement and a clear commitment to embracing their roles in Project SWIFT.

These workshops were instrumental in strengthening local capacity for Project SWIFT’s long-term sustainability. By fostering improved knowledge, boosting female participation, and integrating strong local leadership, the communities are now better equipped to ensure the continued success of their WASH infrastructure.
